PTF Corner
February 4, 2008
First, my apologies for not updating this page sooner. We have had a great (and busy) year so far at CBCA, and I'm expecting we will finish strong in the coming months. The Parent-Teacher Fellowship (often called a PTA or PTO in other schools), is dedicated to fostering a place where parents, staff and faculty come together to make meaningful contributions to the education of our children--specifically in providing a Christ-honoring education. Yes, we handle fund-raising (a necessary evil that keeps tuition costs down), but we also brainstorm, volunteer, and work to make our school the very best it can be.
Did you notice the new theater lights used at the Christmas concert this year? Or the new covered pavilion on the playground? Or an extra $125 for each teacher to spend on supplies at the beginning of each school year? How about the laptop computers the teachers have, and the PowerPoint projectors? All were items purchased by the PTF. Did you know that the school lunch program, bake sales and Booster Club are all operated by the PTF? We have a group of fantastic volunteers--parents and teachers and staff. But, we can always need more volunteers! Please contact me if you would interested in volunteering--or in attending one of our monthly meetings.
In fact, we have meetings on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Science Lab. Let me know if you need instructions on how to find us in the Gym/Ed building.
Please check this space often. I will post the minutes from our monthly meetings so you can keep track of what your PTF is doing. Don't forget, every single parent, teacher and staff member is a voting member of the CBCA PTF. It's YOUR organization! Please support it with your time. The dividends are eternal!
